The IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) Voice Profile for Internet
Messaging (VPIM) Working Group has been trying to decide on vocodec
choices for a long time. If the working group were to specify a
particular vocodec (such as GSM 6.10) without knowing the costs, it
could cause problems for the IETF.
The people in the VPIM group will be thankful for the information you
provide. If you require compensation before you will divulge what you
know, please say so. I've been trying to figure this out for long
enough that I would gladly pay a moddest sum out of my own pocket to
resolve the issue. Perhaps others would too, but I can't say how many
or how much. Thank you for your help.
