Folks,
John took minutes and will send them shortly, in the interim here are some
of the main points that I remember from the VPIM BOF:
* We should be a WG shortly
* VPIM v2 revision
* Drop vCard, but still mention it could appear in a
non-normative way
* multipart/voice-message retains its definition, but better
describe discard rules
* Modify sensitivity reference from MIXER to X.411
* DSN move to Draft Standard - authors Greg V & Keith M to
review
* MDN move to Draft Standard - sub group to review (GregW,
Graham, Emily, John,…)
* VPIM Addressing
* VPIM=, VOICE=, ... intended as a subset of RFC2303
* VPIM Directory
* Base work by Anne & Greg is progressing in ENUM WG
* This group will progress 'VPIM LDAP schema' and 'VPIM use of
ENUM' documents
* IVM (was VPIM v3)
* Different than VPIM v2, backwards compatibility is an option
* Microsoft to check on MSGSM and WAV IPR; a Philips patent on
GSM 6.10 was mentioned...
* In the specification of IVM: MUST basic features, MAY other
features, leave IMAP out
* Partial NDN proposal intended to be used to indicate if
bodyparts had to be deleted for delivery
* Might want to look at Fax content negotiation (per FPIM)
* Since our time was short, it was thought useful to have some
additional 'bar BOFs' in Adelaide this week on these topics:
* MDN
* VPIM v2 revision
* IVM structure
The nost interesting Bar BOF is likely to be the summary discussion on IVM,
I propose Thursday at 2pm for this one. I'll post a location on the board.
Cheers,
Glenn
