Hello all,
My name is Jason Collins. I am the author of draft-ema-vpim-clid-01.txt (
Calling Line Identification for VPIM Messages)
http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-ema-vpim-clid-01.txt
<http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-ema-vpim-clid-01.txt>
<http://www.ietf.org/>
The previous version of this draft was authored by Derrick Dunne.
For those unfamiliar, the draft describes a method for identifying the
originating calling party for a stored VPIM message. Currently there is no
mechanism available to do this, apart from some manipulation of the "From"
header information.
To aid in the review of this document I have attached below a set of changes
that have occurred since the last draft.
* The wording of various sections was changed to make better use of
the KEYWORD Conventions such as MUST, SHOULD, MAY, etc.
* The referencing scheme now matches the format of
draft-ietf-vpim-vpimv2r2-01.txt, that is, by using a reference alias
enclosed in square brackets, i.e. [E.164].
* New and updated references that are used in the current document
were added.
* The Caller Name field has changed in order to conform with ITU-T.50
standards.
The previous specification detailed that the ASCII character set must be
used when encoding the Caller Name field. The new specification outlines
that IA5 must be used because it is the character set currently used by the
PSTN. However because of coding similarities ASCII can be used as the
character set for the Caller Name in this document.
* The final change to this document resulted from the change in the
character set specification. A new Security Consideration was added to
detail the possibility of receiving foreign characters which will be
misinterpreted by a local system.
Thank you,
Jason Collins
