The problem is that if the user agent creating the mail used an external
recorder, it may not know which codec was used. It is not reasonable for it
to have the analyse the WAV to find out.

Of course, if we make WAV/MS-GSM the default in v3, or the only mandatory
one desktop to desktop, as some of us would like, then it certainly be
reasonable to say you SHOULD indicate when something else is used (by
bilateral agreement, or for v2 interworking).
